The first pan-Baltic e-commerce awards are announced – best online stores in 4 categories to be awarded
Ecommerce Star 2024 has been launched – the first awards platform to recognize the best online stores in the Baltics. Applications are open, and participants can apply until April 8, 2024 online at balticecommercestar.com. Winners will be announced at ECOMRIGA on May 24, 2024.
Applications will be evaluated by an international jury of industry experts, and winners of the awards will split a prize pot worth 20,000 EUR, as well as special prizes from awards partners. The four awards categories are divided based on the company’s revenue, and will be evaluated based on three criteria; design, UX, and performance.
To participate, ecommerce stores are asked to fill out a form online and submit the fee according to their category. A shortlist of finalists will be announced on May 10, 2024.
The four awards categories are:
New businesses – companies with a turnover below 50 000 EUR
Free to particiate
Small businesses – companies with a turnover between 50 000 – 500 000 EUR
50 EUR participation fee
Medium businesses – companies with a turnover between 500 000 – 5 000 000 EUR
100 EUR participation fee
Large businesses – companies with a turnover over 5 000 000 EUR
150 EUR participation fee
The awards, initiated by project partners, are intended to shine a spotlight on success stories and excellence in the e-commerce industry across the Baltic region and promote them to a wider, global audience. They also hope to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs to make use of the ever-changing landscape of tools and communications channels to increase sales from the Baltics.
“By supporting the Baltic E-commerce Awards, we’re helping Baltic e-commerce grow. Learning about the latest e-commerce trends and spreading the word about its many opportunities is important for entrepreneurs in the Baltic region to stay competitive and succeed. We believe projects like Baltic E-commerce Star will give e-shop owners the tools to share knowledge, raise awareness about e-commerce and reach international markets.” Comments Meelis Nurk, SEB Head of Strategy, Cards and Payments.
In addition to winning a selection of prizes, such as digital advertising campaigns, free shipping, and free masterclasses, participants will also gain access to insights from industry experts through discussions, podcasts, and interviews, for further business growth.
“Being aware of the role of e-commerce in the economic development of the Baltic region and its growing importance in the global market, Latvijas Pasts is pleased to be a partner of the Baltic E-commerce Star competition. Baltic entrepreneurs involved in e-commerce are at the forefront of dynamic growth and, despite strong competition, have the opportunity to stand out with original and quality products. Latvijas Pasts, whose goal is to become the first choice for every shipment, determinately develops e-commerce shipments and logistics services, because efficient delivery is the key to success in the e-commerce sector,” says Jānis Kūliņš, a member of the board of Latvijas Pasts.
As the first pan-Baltic e-commerce awards, the event provides an opportunity for companies to showcase their product on a larger platform. Participation will ultimately provide online stores with additional visibility, not only at a Baltic level, but throughout the ecommerce industry worldwide, as the event will work towards global visibility.
The event’s strategic partners are SEB and Latvijas Pasts. Other partners include Balcia, Joom, Mēness Aptieka, Aleph, Phh Group, Element Digital, Login, Gemius, and Magic Agency. Media partners include Delfi, TV3 Group, Äripäev.
