1.  GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
   1. This Privacy policy describes how B40 MAGIC, reg. No. 50003265411, Riga, Brīvības iela 40 33, LV-1050, email: info@e-komercijaszvaigzne.lv (hereinafter also referred to as “Data controller”) obtains, processes and stores personal data, which the E-commerce Star competition obtains from its participants and persons visiting the internet homepage: ezvaigzne.izstradesversija.lv (hereinafter referred to as – the “Data subject” or “you”).
   2. Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, i.e. the Data Subject. Processing is any activity related to personal data, such as obtaining, recording, modifying, using, viewing, deleting or destroying.
   3. The data controller complies with the data processing principles stipulated in legislation and can confirm that personal data is processed in accordance with the applicable legislation.
2.  ACQUISITION, PROCESSING AND STORAGE OF PERSONAL DATA
   1. The Data controller collects two types of personal information: user and technical data.
   2. User data is collected when applying for the E-commerce Star competition by filling out the registration form on the Elevatus platform. User data includes:
      1.  Name and surname;
      2.  E-mail address;
      3.  Brand name;
      4.  All information voluntarily provided by users.
   3. Technical data is automatically obtained from authorized third-party service providers. Technical data includes but is not limited to:
      1.  Browser data;
      2.  Country;
      3.  Operating system;
      4.  Device type;
      5.  URL path before and after visiting E-commerce Star site.
3.  YOUR RIGHTS
   1. Access rights
      1.  You are entitled to access all data and how it is processed by contacting us directly.
   2. Correction rights
      1.  You are entitled to correct or complete erroneous and/or incomplete data stored by E-commerce Star. This can be done by contacting us directly.
   3. Deletion rights
      1.  You are entitled to request the deletion of your data from our systems. We will comply with such a request unless we have a legitimate reason not to delete the data.
   4. Rights to restrict processing
      1.  You are entitled to restrict data processing. This may limit your ability to participate in the competition or receive notifications about the progress of the competition.
   5. How to exercise your rights.
      1.  The aforementioned rights can be exercised by sending us a request to the following e-mail address: info@balticecommerceawards.com. You must be able to verify your identity during the request. We may request repeat and/or additional information to process your request.
4.  LINKS TO OTHER SITES
   1. This website may contain links to third party websites. We take no responsibility for the security of your data in external services or links.

Regulations

The rules stipulate the procedures for selecting candidates and judging participants in the Baltic e-commerce annual award competition “E-commerce Star 2025” (hereinafter referred to as – the competition).

1. COMPETITION MISSION, GOAL, AND TASKS
   1. The competition’s mission is to raise the Baltic e-commerce sector’s standards and international competitiveness.
   2. The purpose of the competition is to praise and show to the wider public those companies that ensure and promote the excellence, growth and best practices of the E-commerce sector in the Baltics.
   3. The competition’s task is to raise the quality of the sector and to foster the highest possible development of E-commerce in the Baltics.
2. COMPETITION TIMETABLE
   1. Stage I (10 March 2025 – 8 April 2025) – application for the competition and filling in the registration form on the homepage: https://balticecommerceawards.com
   2. Stage II (15 April 2025 – 10 May 2025) – jury judging process.
   3. Stage III (29 May 2025) – concluding ceremony and announcement of the winners of the “E-commerce Star 2025” competition.
3. PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS
   1. Applicants who meet the following requirements are eligible to participate in the competition:
      1.  The applicant’s internet trading platform is registered in Latvia, Lithuania, or Estonia;
      2.  The scope of the applicant’s company is the sale of products and/or services in the Baltics and the world, using an online platform for financial transactions;
      3.  Applicants have fully read and accepted the following legal foundations (regulations) and have correctly filled in all fields marked as mandatory in the competition registration form available on the competition website;
      4.  The applicant makes a payment for the registration of his platform if required to do so.
4. COMPETITION APPLICATION FEE
   1. E-commerce businesses apply based on their size, with participation fees varying accordingly:
      1.  New Business: Participation is free. Revenue: not higher than EUR 50,000;
      2.  Small Business: Participation is EUR 50 per category. Revenue: EUR 50,000 – 500,000;
      3.  Medium Business: Participation is EUR 100 per category. Revenue: EUR 500,000 – 5M;
      4.  Large Business: Participation is EUR 150 per category. Revenue: over EUR 5M.
5. COMPETITION CATEGORIES
   1. Candidates can nominate their e-commerce company in one or several categories. The categories are as follows: 
      1.  User Experience & Design;
      2.  Content;
      3.  Export;
      4.  AI & Automation;
      5.  Sustainability;
      6.  Marketplace;
      7.  Shopify;
      8.  Effective Campaign.
6. REGISTRATION PROCESS AND FORM
   1. To register for the competition, you must fill in the registration form (available on the competition homepage: https://balticecommerceawards.com). It is mandatory to provide the following information:
      1.  Candidate’s contact information;
      2.  Brand name;
      3.  Your e-commerce site address;
      4.  Company size category;
      5.  Competition category;
      6.  Payment for registration of your platform.
   2. Competition applicants may be required to provide additional documentation to justify their participation in the competition.
   3. At the time of registration, applicants’ data must be accurate and true. Applicants guarantee and are responsible for the correctness and legality of the data and content provided. 
   4. The organizer is not responsible for the veracity of the information provided by applicants.
   5. If the applicant has provided false, inaccurate, or incomplete information or the organizer has reasonable suspicions about the falsity of the information provided, the organizer has the right to revoke the applicant’s participation in the competition even if the applicant has been approved as a participant and won in one of the categories.
   6. If the organizer finds that the information provided by the applicant does not meet the requirements of the regulations, participation in the competition may be canceled.
   7. Participation in the competition requires a fee, except for the “New Business” category. The entry fee for each category is detailed on the registration platform.
   8. Entry fee refunds: Entry fees can be returned until the end of registration, which closes on 8 April. The entry fee is non-refundable after this period.
7. CONFIRMATION OF PARTICIPANTS
   1. When filling out the registration form, the applicant will receive an automatic system confirmation of receipt of the application to the specified e-mail address.
   2. If the submitted information complies with the regulations, the applicant will be approved as a competition participant by receiving an automatic confirmation from the system to the specified e-mail address.
   3. If the organizer finds that the submitted information does not comply with the regulations, the applicant will receive a message to the e-mail address specified in the application that his participation in the competition has not been approved.
   4. The competition organizer reserves the right to reject an applicant if it has no connection with the e-commerce industry, does not belong to the relevant category and/or the application is otherwise incomplete. In addition, the organizer reserves the right to offer the applicant participation in another competition category, if the applicant has applied for a category for which his business is not eligible.
8. JUDGING AND VOTING
   1. After receiving the application, the eligibility of the applicant for participation in the competition and the application category are assessed.
      1.  Category compliance: if the specific application is submitted in a category that does not correspond to the company’s industry, technical performance or product category, the platform may be switched to a category that corresponds to the digital platform. The evaluation will be done by the jury.
      2.  Applicant eligibility: after receiving applications, all applicants will be evaluated. Applicants who have correctly filled out the application form will be nominated for evaluation.
   2. When an applicant is approved to participate in the competition, it becomes a participant. The jury evaluates the participants of each category, and the recipients of the best evaluation are nominated for the competition final.
   3. The jury will evaluate the participants according to the following criteria: design, page performance/usability (in addition, sales results may be used if they are submitted, which will be evaluated as an additional plus). In addition to these general criteria, each web shop will also be evaluated specifically within its chosen category, taking into account the unique focus and requirements of that category. Detailed descriptions of each category can be found on the official website.
      1.  Design: The design criterion evaluates the compliance of the website design with the business goals of the brand, as well as the use of modern web design principles and innovations on the website. These parameters are evaluated with the help of a jury, as well as the “Lighthouse” platform approved by Google. In the marketplace category, the jury will focus on different aspects. The explanation is provided in 8.3.1.1.
         1.  Marketplace category: The marketplace category will be evaluated based on two main criteria: content and picture quality. Additionally, the jury will assess how effectively the content is used to describe and showcase the product.
      2.  Page performance: The evaluation of the jury will be used, as well as the criteria of the “Lighthouse” and “Google Speed Insight” platforms as performance.
   4. The jury evaluates participants, awarding 1 to 10 points for each criterion:
      1.  1–3 points (very weak),
      2.  3–4 points (weak),
      3.  5–6 points (satisfactory),
      4.  7–8 points (good),
      5.  9–10 points (very good).
   5. The jury’s evaluations are aggregated, and the contestants with the highest total score are promoted to the finals
   6. The finalists are evaluated in a jury discussion, resulting in the awarding of “gold”, “silver” and “bronze” in each category.
   7. The Jury reserves the right not to award any entrant in a category if any entrant is deemed not to qualify for a “gold”, “silver” and “bronze” rating.

9. JURY
   1. The organizer selects industry experts as jury members. The competition jury will be announced during the competition through the organizer’s information channels.
10. AWARDS
    1. From the finalists in each category, the jury chooses the best, awarding “gold”, “silver” and “bronze”.
       1.  The award includes a competition diploma prepared by the organizer, as well as a digital competition winner’s order, which each award winner is allowed to use in their company’s communication channels as a sign of recognition until the next competition (limited period).
       2.  The total award fund is 20000 euros, which will be divided among all category winners. The amount of each winner’s award is determined by the organizer. The organizer retains the right to change the amounts of the award fund without prior notice.
    2. From the awarded gold laureates of all categories, the jury will nominate one participant who will win the Grand Prix award. The organizer retains the right to disclose the award content during the competition.
11. ANNOUNCEMENTS OF WINNERS AND AWARDS CEREMONY
    1. Competition winners accept and authorize the use of their brand name, trade name, company name and any other corporate insignia to be used to publicize the results of the competition prizes, as appropriate. They also authorize the organizer to use the mentioned company’s insignia in all advertising and promotional activities related to the competition.
    2. The awards ceremony will take place in Vilnius, LOGIN 2025, at a location that will be chosen as appropriate for the competition. The competition organizers reserve the opportunity to organize the ceremony remotely via a live Internet broadcast. Detailed information about the venue, time and other details of the ceremony will be announced during the competition through the organizer’s information channels.
12. COMPETITION COMMUNICATION CHANNELS
    1. All information related to the competition will be published on the competition website. Individual news will also be published on the competition’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter).
    2. The organizer can publish information about the competition and its results in other media: press, radio, television, internet portals and place outdoor ads.
    3. The organizer retains the right to publish the results of the competition on the competition website and social media. The results of the competition will also be published on the websites of the media partners of the competition and the organizations sponsoring the organizers, whose logos are published on the website of the competition, on social media. Participants who agree to participate in the competition express their consent to the aforementioned activities of the organizer.
13. LIABILITY LIMIT
    1. The organizer retains the right at any time to temporarily or permanently withdraw, suspend or conditionally modify the competition and rules due to content security, interruption of computer services or any other unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the organizer. In such cases, the organizer does not assume any responsibility for the participants or third parties.
    2. Information about changes that have taken place in the competition or regulations will be published on the website. Anybody interested can check the current version of the regulations on the website.
    3. The organizer does not assume any responsibility for insufficient or irregular operation of electronic communication networks, which obstructs the normal development of the competition and which have occurred for reasons unknown to the organizer.
    4. The organizer is not responsible for any kind of losses that may arise from the unavailability of the website and other technical malfunctions. In any case, the organizer will take all necessary steps to restore its services in the event of technical failures.
14. COMPETITION INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
    1. All content of the website (information, data, texts, logo, images, audio, video, design, software, etc.) belongs to the organizer or is used in accordance with the license of the owners of the intellectual property of such content and is protected by laws and regulations applicable to intellectual property protection.
    2. Full or partial reproduction, distribution and public communication of the content of the organizer’s website for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.
