Last Friday, the winners of the first Baltic Ecommerce Awards were announced. The main award, the Grand Prix, was presented to HackMotion. This Latvian company sells sports technology.

This year marks the first time that the awards were held at a Baltic scale. In the last three years, the organizers awarded E-commerce Star prizes to ecommerce companies in Latvia. The organizers have already said that this new tradition of the Baltic Ecommerce Awards will be continued into next year.

Multiple categories and special awards

There were four categories in which gold, silver and bronze were awarded. The categories were new business, small business, medium business and large business. Additionally, companies competed for 5 special awards, in which one winner per category was announced. Each winner was selected by a panel of judges from industry experts.

The most important award of the evening, the Grand Prix, went to Hackmotion. This is a seller of hardware and software that analyzes users’ golf swings. According to the company, it is already used by more than 10,000 golfers and coaches worldwide.

‘Remarkable event’

“This year’s ecommerce awards festival has been a remarkable event, with over 100 ecommerce platforms participating from across the Baltic states. We have seen that these top platforms know how to utilize the right tools, create high-quality content, and craft effective website designs”, said Arnis Jekabsons, head of the jury and Managing Director at Element Digital.

‘The commitment to continuous improvement from participants this year is encouraging.’

According to him, the competitive edge of ecommerce in the Baltics is evident. He also said that the competing companies are well-equipped to excel internationally.  “While there is still room for growth, particularly in the integration of AI and automation within our online stores, the enthusiasm and commitment to continuous improvement exhibited by this year’s participants is truly encouraging.”
