This year the E-Commerce Star competition will be held for the second time in the Baltics. Candidates should submit applications by 8 April, which will be judged by experts from the Baltics and Europe according to three main criteria: user experience, design and technical performance. The winners will be announced on 29 May at the Baltics’ biggest innovation and technology forum Login 2025, which will be held in Vilnius.
The umbrella theme for this year’s competition “Scaling greatness” highlights businesses that have grown rapidly thanks to e-commerce and have achieved notable successes in the local market, as well as globally. Thus, regardless of whether a company is a small e-store or a large online retail player, interested companies are invited to apply in one of 8 categories by 8 April: User experience and design, homepage content, sustainability, exports, artificial intelligence and automation, e-commerce platforms (marketplaces), effective campaigns, and Shopify.
“E-Commerce Star is not just a competition – it’s an opportunity for businesses to showcase their achievements and to become part of the active Baltic e-commerce community. Here we highlight the industry’s leading lights, which can inspire others and demonstrate new ideas to master. In addition, this year we’re planning a project with broad content including podcasts, discussions and valuable materials, which will help companies to grow and develop. And, of course, the competition prize fund can be a great trampoline for your e-commerce growth,” says Arnis Jēkabsons, a member of the competition jury and CEO of the digital agency Element Digital.
In order to apply, companies must register their e-commerce platform on the official competition homepage: balticecommerceawards.com. Registration is open until 8 April, and businesses can apply in one of 8 categories.
The competition was launched to foster the growth of e-commerce and the development of exports in the Baltics, highlighting successful companies that can inspire others to scale new heights. This not only provides participants with a valuable insight into the performance of their e-store, but also the opportunity to compare themselves to other industry players and to learn from the best. Healthy competition motivates businesses to introduce new solutions and adapt to rapidly changing consumer and technology trends. At the same time, the competition provides a platform for exchanging experience and discussions that help industry players to develop and stay competitive. It is also a great networking event, where competitors become kindred spirits, sharing knowledge and building new relationships.
“E-commerce cannot exist without strong and reliable logistics. Our task is to ensure that every shipment reaches the customer quickly and efficiently, therefore cooperation with e-commerce companies is one of our fundamental principles. These competitions not only help to highlight the most innovative and success players in the industry, but also inspire those who are still searching for their true directions to achieve new accomplishments. We are delighted to support initiatives that foster the growth of e-commerce in the Baltics and generate quality discussions in this field as a whole,” stresses Latvijas Pasts Board Member Dita Mirbaha.
For the past five years the E-Commerce Star competition has attracted e-stores in various sectors, and to date over 1,000 companies have participated in it. The Grand Prix award has been won by four companies: Azeron, Velosock, Selfnamed and HackMotion. These companies stood out with outstanding user experience, innovative solutions and high technical performance, confirming their leading position within the e-commerce sector, which was highly valued by the jury.
It would not be possible to organise an event on this scale without trustworthy cooperation partners, and one of its long-term supporters is Latvijas Pasts, which is the project’s strategic partner this year. Likewise, other leading e-commerce sector players provide important support in the implementation of this project: Mēness aptieka, MakeCommerce, Aleph, Gemius, One More Agency, Element Digital, The Red Jackets, Login.lt, Nords Porter Communications; Media partners: Delfi, IR Nauda and DScreens.
